In the first edition of Fashion Rio, Jóia Carioca showed to the specialized press the production of jewelers and artisans established in Rio de Janeiro.
The preference given for design, creativity and unusualness was the recipe for its success.
In the following edition it became Jóia Brasil, with the official seal of Fashion Rio and the support of IBGM (Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals) and AJORIO (Rio de Janeiro Jewelers Association).
The third edition confirmed the strength of design, bringing to Jóia Brasil brands and jewelers internationally acclaimed.
Anglogold, with its collection of jewels awarded at the Designer's Forum 2002 (the theme of which was "The Natural Brazilian Sensuality), presented creation in gold of 42 important Brazilian designers.
Juarez Machado special gift were his 20 works exlusively created for the event, artistic jewels inspirerd in current social issues such as the Hunger Zero Program, handmade with the sensitivity of a true jeweler, even though he is a painter and sculptor.
Nuance created moulages with jewel fabrics, handmade lace-trims embroidered with gems and threads of silver and gold.
IBGM and AJORIO release Caderno de Tendências de Jóias 2004 (2004 Jewelry Trends Booklet), a publication meant to divulge the novelties in high jewelry for industries and consumers. The booklet presents four trends: Gladiatrix, High Fantasy, Refined Style and Poptimism.
