The VIII international edition of Joia Brazil took place on September 29, 2009, during the VII Benefit Gala of Brazil Foundatation . The Cipriani on 42nd Street in Manhattan, received more than 500 guests from the financial , diplomatic, commercial, artistic and academic communities, in New York, interested to contribute to a better Brazil.
Anna Clara Herrmann, curator of Joia Brazil, has selected eight Brazilian jewelry designers, who donated pieces for auction at dinner. The works of Bia Vasconcellos, Francisca Bastos, Ilaria Rato, Kamille Bernard, Kim Poor, Lúcia Lima, Monah Delacy and Miriam Kimelblat were displayed in shop windows during the night. The proceeds will go to Brazilian projects in the areas of education, health, human rights, citizenship and culture.
In this edition, were honored Otaviano Canuto, Vice-President of the World (Network for Poverty Reduction and Economic Management), Alberto Weisser, chairmain and chief executive of Bunge Limited, Cosette Alves, President of the Foundation for Culture and the Interamerican Development Bank and Oskar Metsavaht, Osklen Creative Director and founder of the Instituto E.
Anna Clara still leads the work of Kim Poor, Ilaria Rato, Lúcia Lima, Francisca Bastos to Roseark and Bettina Duncan at Fred Segal in Los Angeles, and Marisa Perry, in Soho, NY.
